Cookie Policy

Cookies we set

None. Material Measures itself does not set any cookies. Any cookies described below come from Google, a third party.

Google AdSense

Every page loads Google's AdSense script for our publisher account (ca-pub-6478897009454681). Having this code installed is not the same as showing advertisements: while the site is awaiting AdSense approval, no Google advertisements are displayed, and no advertising units or Auto Ads have been placed on the site.

Even before any advertisements appear, the AdSense script and Google's consent message may store or read cookies and similar identifiers on your device. Once advertisements are shown, Google and its partners may use these technologies for purposes such as:

• showing advertisements and limiting how often you see the same one;
• personalising advertisements, only where you have agreed to this;
• measuring how advertisements perform;
• detecting fraud and abuse, and keeping the service secure;
• remembering the consent choices you make.

We have not verified a full list of the individual cookies Google sets on this site, and that list depends on your location, your choices and Google's own systems, so we do not reproduce one here. Google describes its cookies on its page How Google uses cookies and its use of data from partner sites on How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

The European consent message

We use Google's own consent management tool, published through AdSense Privacy & Messaging. Visitors from the UK, the European Economic Area and Switzerland are shown a message asking whether they consent to Google using cookies and personal data for advertising purposes. You can accept, decline or choose options. Google uses your answer to decide how advertising technology may operate for you; where you do not consent to personalised advertising, any advertisements shown would be non-personalised or limited. Some cookies may still be used for purposes such as fraud prevention and remembering your choice.

Managing your consent

• Change your choice on this site: where Google's consent message provides a privacy or cookie settings link on the page, use it to reopen the message and update your choice. You can also clear this site's cookies in your browser, and the message will appear again on your next visit.
• Google ad personalisation: manage it at Google's My Ad Center.
• Browser controls: most browsers let you block or delete cookies, or block third-party cookies, in their privacy settings.

What is stored by the site itself

Your region, measurement system and currency symbol are kept in your browser's local storage under a single key. Local storage is not a cookie: it is never attached to network requests and never leaves your device. It exists so the calculators open in the units you used last time.

To remove it, clear site data for this domain in your browser settings.

The KornaStone Digital promotion

Some pages show a labelled first-party promotion for KornaStone Digital. The video is served from this site's own hosting and the link carries no tracking parameters, so the promotion sets no cookies and uses no tracking technology. It is separate from Google AdSense.

Other third-party services

The site's text font is supplied by Google Fonts. Your browser requests the font files from Google's servers, so Google receives standard request information such as your IP address. This site does not ask Google Fonts to set cookies. No third-party video players, maps, social widgets, comment systems or tag managers are loaded.

Changes to this policy

When advertisements start appearing, or if we add or remove any service that uses cookies, this page and the privacy policy will be updated.
